2016 Chevrolet Tahoe

Since it was unveiled in 1992, Chevrolet Tahoe has been going
through minor changes to its body. The auto maker has however
managed to maintain the same architecture which utilizes
aluminum in all Tahoe models. The new 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe
comes with some touches here and there to reflect the latest
advancement in the industry.

The first sighting of the new 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe will be
unmistakably impressive. You have to turn your head when this
car zooms past you. Its dimensions will be 200.39 inches long,
a wheelbase of 116 inches, 80.5 inches wide and 74 inches tall.
Its carefully sculpted side panels and an aggressive and
confident stance demand attention wherever it is.

It will be offered in three trim levels which will be the base
LS, the quasi-posh LT, and the flagship LTZ. The front will
have a redesigned chrome grille. The base LS and mid LT trims
will run on 18-inch alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, a roof-rack
and heated power-adjustable mirrors. On the other hand, the LTZ
trim will feature 20-inch alloy wheels, reverse-tilt
power-adjustable mirrors while both the LT and LTZ will feature
a power-opening lift gate as standard.

To ease your outdoor activities, the full-size SUV comes with
hitch-mounted bicycle carrier and a roof-mounted Kayak carrier.

2016 Chevrolet Tahoe Interior

Inside the new 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe, the base (LS) trim will
feature premium cloth upholstery, power-adjustable front seats,
cruise control, tilt-wheel steering, rear parking sensors, a
rear-view camera which will come as standard for all trims,
tri-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth-integrated OnStar
telematics and a 4G LTE infotainment system that features an
8-inch touch screen-display.

LT and LTZ trims will offer a telescoping tilt wheel steering,
a remote garage door opener, power adjustable pedals and front
heated seats as standard. The LTZ trim will also feature heated
second-row captain’s chairs and an upgraded Driver Alert
Package. For entertainment, the base, LS trim comes with an
audio AM/FM stereo with 6-speakers, a satellite radio and
auxiliary input. The LT will have additional 3 speakers while
the LTZ will feature a Bose premium audio system with 10
speakers.

All trims will feature the Max Trailering package. The Ls will
accommodate up to 9 passengers while the LT and LST will
accommodate 8 passengers.

For safety, all trims will have 4-wheel antilock brakes (ABS),
front side-mounted airbags, 3-row head curtain airbags,
traction and stability control, GM’s front center-mounted
airbag that offers front-seat passenger additional protection
in side collisions (front bucket seats only).

Other safety features will include daytime running lights,
OnStar emergency alerts and a post-collision safety system and
communications.

Engine, Specs and Performance

The new 2016 Chevy Tahoe will be powered by a 355 hp 5.3 L V8
engine which produces 383 lb-ft of torque when paired with a
6-speed shiftable automatic transmission. It will have a towing
capacity of up to 8,600 pounds.

This engine will deliver EPA ratings of 16/23/18 mpg when
paired with RWD while the 4WD will deliver 16/22/18 mpg for
city/town/combined. 4WD variants will have a 2-speed transfer
case. Both RWD and 4WD iterations in LT and LTZ will feature a
standard rear locking differential which will be offered as an
option in the LS. An adaptive suspension will be offered as
standard in the LTZ and as an option in the LTZ. The model will
have a capability to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 6.2 seconds.

Price and release date

This full-size SUV has already made its debut and sales are set
to follow soon. The base LS trim will go for around $ 48,000
MSRP. Higher trims will cost more, start MSRP price of LTZ trim
level is $ 62,800.
