2017 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

Chevrolet is set to release the next generation of Corvette
Z06, a sports car known for its excellent performance, easy
handling and sold at a reasonable price. The model was
scheduled to arrive early this year but the automaker has
delayed its production slightly to give room for the
2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport; the Z06 will now
arrive later this fall. The new 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Z06
cooling system has been revised to ensure it does not develop
heating issues like the current Z06. Read along for more
information:

2017 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Exterior

The exterior profile of the Corvette Z06 is as stylish as they
come. The model will not look any bit odd when packed side by
side with other sports cars in its category. The body of the
Corvette is made up of lightweight materials including carbon
fiber and stiff aluminum. This has helped to cut the model’s
curb weight translating into improved performance and enhanced
fuel economy.

The 2-door sports car will still be offered in both coupe and
convertible body styles. The only difference between the two
models is the drop-top roof of the convertible. For the 2017
model year, Chevrolet has made the front fascia more
aggressive. This is courtesy of a more slanted hood and new LED
headlights. The grille remains unchanged but below it are new
air intakes that channel more cooling air to the monstrous
engine under the hood. To improve cooling even further the Z06
also features bigger cooling vents. At the rear, the taillights
also feature LED lighting. The new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 also
features four exhaust tips all mounted at the center. The Z06
rides on a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels, alloy wheels
of 19 inches can be ordered as an option from $ 3,700.

2017 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Interior

Sliding inside, you will meet a very comfortable and luxurious
cabin. The seats are comfortable and are wrapped with leather.
The seats are placed in a way to provide ample legroom as well
as headroom. Chevrolet has modified the center stack to mimic a
fighter jet’s cockpit. The cabin also features a premium sound
system that comes with an MP3/MP4 player, satellite radio,
Bluetooth connectivity and a USB port.

For 2017, the sports car adds a new infotainment system with an
8.0-inchdisplay. The model is also offered with a digital
instrument panel that enables a driver to customize the display
according to various driving modes. The driving modes offered
are Eco, Track, Weather, Tour and Sport.

The Z06 also features 4G LTE connectivity and a host of driver
assistance programs and safety systems including traction
control, parking assist, line departure warning, a rearview
camera as well as enhanced seatbelts and a full package of
airbags. In addition, Chevrolet offers a built-in camera that
is used to record performance data when you take your Z06 on
the racing tracks.

Engine Specs and performance

This is where it matters most when it comes to sports cars. If
you have the best exterior design without a monstrous engine to
back it up then you cannot claim to have a sports car. The
Corvette Z06 excels at both. Under the hood, you will find a
supercharged 6.2 L, V-8 mill that churns out a whopping 650 hp
thus doing its aggressive design justice. The engine is mated
to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Chevrolet will offer a 7-speed
manual transmission as an option.

With this power, the 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 makes the 0-60
mph run in under 3 seconds (2,95 sec) on its way to a top speed
of 195 mph. In terms of fuel economy, the engine is EPA rated
at 15 mpg in city, 22 mpg on highway and 18 mpg on combined
drives. These figures are very impressive considering it is a
powerful sports car.
